Lance Cooper has quickly become one of the most respected up-and-coming trainers in cutting. A true student of the sport from birth, Lance is the son of Open Hall of Fame Rider Michael Cooper.

Growing up immerced in the cutting world gave Lance a deep foundation in horsemanship that he’s built into his own highly successful career. Since becoming an Open Trainer in 2021, Lance has compiled impressive accompolishments, including major futurity titles, consistent finalist placings and over $1 million in lifetime cutting earnings – all while earning a reputation for clarity, balance and timing … both in his own riding and as an instructor. He continues to compete at the hightes levels of the sport while training and developing top-quality cutting horses for Open and Non-Pro competition.

Lance combines his competitive experience with a natural teaching ability that make his clinics both practical and transformational for riders of all levels. At our COCHA Clinic, participants will benefit from his thoughtful approach to fundamental, feel and confidence in the pen.

Todd Bimat is a member of the NCHA Riders Hall Of Fame with over $3 Million in lifetime earnings. He grew up and spent most of his career up until now on the West Coast where he has won every PCCHA event at least once. He has also had success in Texas at the NCHA Triple Crown Events where he has been a multiple finalist and twice been crowned the Champion in the Open Classic Challenge at the NCHA Superstakes and also won the Gelding division. Todd has been a multiple Aged Event finalist as well as a consistent Top 15 World Finals qualifier in the Open and Novice classes.

COCHA was priviledged to host Tim Smith as our 2023 clinic clinician. Tim brought an exceptional dept of knowledge, professionalism, and horsemanship that resonated with riders across all experience levels. Participants gained tremendous value from the clinic’s structured progression from reviewing rules, bridles and bits, dry work and flag work and foundational exercises on day one, advancing to focus instruction and refinement in the cutting pen on day two and concluding with an engaging and highly educational mock show on day three. Tim’s ability to communicate clearly, diagnose riders challenges and help horses and riders progress as a team created an experience that was both productive and confidence-building. The imporovement seen throughout the clinic was remarkable, leaving participants with practical tools they continue to apply in their training and competition programs today.
